William ('Willy') Pogany (1882-1955)

Hungarian illustrator of children's and adult literature. He chose the famous to illustrate the famous Persian Philospher's work,Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam in this striking monochromatic style.
Process= Original Beck gravure by the Beck Printing Company, New York & Philadelphia, 1942.
Plate-marks approx = 135mm x 175mm
Presented for sale in 410mm x 520mm Museum mat presententation with hand applied "French Wash" or monochromatic decorative papers. decoration ready for framing.
